Our Kiwanis club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.
Signature Project
The Kiwanis Club of Troy, NY provides books for the Tri-City Valley Cats Summer Reading Program. Every Sunday game the club hosts children ahead of the first pitch at the ball park. Players will read to the children of all ages and each child leaves the game with a book. It’s a wonderful partnership we have with the club and members attend the games to meet with the parents and share details about Kiwanis.
Joseph’s House & Shelter – Once a month our members cook and serve lunch for our neighbors at Joseph’s House in Troy. The menu varies each month.
Regional Food Bank – Each month our members voluntter one evening to sort food at the Regional Food Bank in Latham. Often we are joined by Kiwanis Members from other clubs in the Van Rensselaer Division.
Quarterly Activities:
Happy Hour – Our club meets in person for fellowship and fun. Be on the lookout for these events on our calendar. Most recently we’ve been holding them at the Recovery Room on Hoosick Street.
Circle K Sponsorships
Our Kiwanis club supports Circle K service projects, attend meetings, and mentor college students. We enjoy inviting those students to our meetings, service projects, and events. It’s always a fun time collaborating and learning from our youth!

Next up, Olivia and Dan! Olivia inherited the love and passion of serving the community and became a 4th generation Kiwanian in 2012 after being a member of Key Club and Circle K. Troy Kiwanis gave Olivia a platform to foster new ideas through networking, service and fundraising. When Dan met Olivia he wanted to experience the passion Olivia had for the organization. Dan quickly became involved volunteering at weekend service projects and serving as a member of the board of directors. Together they are able to serve the community and are raising the next generation of Kiwanians in their 2 sons. They want to show their boys what community is all about.
